Happy Chinese New Year! Part One

Today is a party in Koko's class for Chinese New Year. The Twins and I were lucky enough to join! Thanks Koko! Lots of fun activities! They made Chinese Lanterns, had a taste sampling of different cuisines, maked red enveloped and did some worksheets with math in chinese. Wow! So fun!
A little about red envelopes or Hong Bao, they are like the Chinese wand of hope, and it often carries boundless blessings. The children were asked to write down the wish for the person that they will be giving their envelope to. The lucky red envelope with money inside is given out to signify good fortune and good energy, especially when the money notes are crisp new notes with fresh new "chi" energy. It is your deep hearts desire for them...
Koko gave Eli and Quincy a red envelope. The message read, " Eli and Quincy I hope you have as much food as you want and are the center of attention! Love- Koko."

That is a kind of love that can't be put into words. Koko- thank you for teaching me about love!
